Our lives are ultimately meaningless. No matter what we do, we will never have the chance to experience the lighter pleasures of life. From the very start, you are thrown into an institution, typically a school, to prepare you for a lifetime of work. Meanwhile, anyone past 20 will from then on is immediately drafted into the workforce, with the only other option being "you get to starve to death" and they have to grind themselves into a machine until the day they die so someone else can own their labour. Any sort of excitement is reserved for the rich and powerful, while the rest of us just go on with our boring lives. People worse off have to deal with the growing ecological disasters caused by human action (wildfires, climate change, pollution, etc.) that are literally destroying them and the system they inhabit.
