Asriel was able to stop it from continuing naturaly, but strong emotions can cause it to spread more for a short while before going back to its previous state. Fully developed Greysoul is basicaly like Alzheimer's disease; You lose your memories, personality, and soul trait if the host is Human. Greysoul is nothing like HATE, due to how Hate drives off of anger and resentment to make you stronger and out of control, Greysoul takes away all your emotions to make you a husk of your former self, Greysoul could possibly counteract the effects of Hate, but it has never been seen interacting with eachother. the only possible benifits is slightly higher stats and a on hit effect called Nulling. Nulling acts like KR but it deals 5% of the targets Max HP every second for 5 seconds. while the effect cannot stack, it can be inflicted again immeditely if hit again. This effect is extremely dangerous, and can easily kill someone if they take 4 hits without healing, even if you have high DEF or HP. So far, there is no known way to cure this infection. The cause of it has known to be extreme guilt and trauma, with 1 in 25 people being affected with the requirements. The good news is that it cant spread from touching the infected area, but it will inflict Nulling instead. Despite remembering everything they did as Flowey, they seem to just be glad to be able to feel emotions again. Besides mentioning a Temmie that they took care of as Flowey that had simular abilities to Asriel, They dont like to talk about it too much.
