Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't American schools really reductive on all of history? They jump from ancient Latin American civilisations such as the Incas and Aztecs to the Romans and Greeks, maybe doing a little bit on feudal China, to European colonisation of the Americas, barely dipping into the Beaver Wars, then the American War of Independence, American Civil War, and U.S. entry into World War II. The Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, the War of 1812, the First World War, the Cold War, the War on Drugs, the Civil Rights Movement, the Red Scares, American intervention during the Russian Civil War, etc. are all disregarded in the nation's 245 years of existance?
