i don't think art should be payed for in the first place. it doesn't contribute anything materially worthy to society, its purpose is self expression. we pour millions into the entertainment industry and get literally nothing out of it. it's an economic waste. if people want to make art, they can. but they shouldn't expect a job out of it.
