The Polish state was guilty of everything that people blame the Soviet Union for during World War II. In the aftermath of World War I and the Russian Civil War, Poland invaded Lithuania. By the end of the war, the Polish Government occupied the entirety of Vilnius (later returned to Lithuania by the Soviet Union in 1939). Poland also took part in the annexation of Czechoslovakia between Germany, Hungary, and itself in 1938. While the Soviet Union had Gulags (which were much more comparable to prisons), Poland had concentration camps of their own as early as the 1920s. While people criticise Stalin for signing a non-aggression agreement with Germany in 1939, Poland under Piłsudski had signed a non-aggression agreement with Germany in 1934.
