Some Native American tribes would kidnap and incorporate colonisers of mostly European descent into their tribes. One famous example of this was Quanah Parker, a war leader of the Kwahadi (meaning: Antelope) band of the Comanche Nation during the Red River War and the last Comanche chief. He was the son of Cynthia Ann Parker, an Anglo-American who was kidnapped at the age of 10 during a skirmish in Fort Parker, Texas.
