Besides, the Switch 2 can still play all sensible NS1 games. When I say sensible, I mean games that don't have stupid gimmicky things, like the IR sensor. So yes, you can still play BotW and TotK, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario Maker 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, etc. etc., you get the idea. So no, all that money you spent on games will not have gone to waste. It's likely WHY Nintendo did that in the first place.
