Well, if I leave, then it's out of my hands what happens to PAM as a whole. Storywise, for Chris, he'll be taking a test over the weekend to qualify for the army. If I leave the site, then he'll be staying home permanently to take care of the aftermath of the test. If I stay, he'll probably just come back all excited, he'll have a new item in his inventory that will be practically useless. And I'll have a good excuse for him to be away when I'm away.
