He supported the Nazis' rearmament programmes, had the opportunity to kill Hitler as early as 1939 (he was the Commander of Hitler's Personal Bodyguard), fought for an ignoble cause, possibly had knowledge of the e̶u̶t̶h̶a̶n̶a̶s̶i̶a̶ industrialised murder programmes and death camps, had an affair in his private life, burned civilian houses in France, helped orchastrate and commit an anti-Jewish pogrom in Libya, failed to capture the Suez Canal, failed to win at El Alamein (twice), got high on Pervitin and ran over an entire column of French soldiers with his tank, turned a blind eye to bigotry in Nazi-Occupied Europe, ordered his troops to pretend to surrender in order to ambush British and French units, massacred the Jewish Brigade of the British Army, etc., et cetera. People should stop celebrating Rommel to the extent they do.
