Pvt. Eddie Slovik (18 February 1920 - 31 January 1945), Service #36896415, from Company G, 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th U.S. Infantry Division, a soldier in the United States Army during World War II, was the only soldier since the American Civil War to be court-martialled and executed for desertion.
