I think the primary problem with your "jokes" is that too many of them are self-deprecating. No one wants to see someone else tear themselves down, but that's basically all you do. And again, maybe no one knew what to say in response to what you said. Words can be hard sometimes, after all. You're just way too hung up on being "ignored," and you make too big a deal out of it. You know if something you say gets missed, or no response, you can always try again. Rephrase or something. But don't cry about it and start things like... well, what you and I are doing now. I have an assignment to be working on, yet I'm here trying to drive home a point to you.
