It took us only 4,250 men, comparatively small to their thousands. We also had inferior guns, such as the Land Pattern Musket, muskets that, on average, took 16 seconds to load, had an ammo capacity of one bullet, and could blow up on themselves pretty easily, compared to modern weapons like the M16A1 or AR15, which are lightweight, have a loading capacity between 30 and 40 times larger (depends on the size of the magazine) than those of the Brown Bess, and are legal to buy in the US.
