There are legitimate criticisms of Stalin militaristically during the Second World War, namely his anti-Semitic purges, refusal to cooperate with Sir Winston Churchill, the invasion of Poland, the invasion of Finland, how he just threw his troops at Finland during the Winter War (causing devastating losses), and, well, executing some of his best generals after the Finnish-Soviet War.
