to keep the axe aspect it would have to retain the shape of an axe. the only way to weaponize a stereotypical axe, you must throw it with foreward rotation so the blade hits the enemy, but a bow shoots straight with no rotation. the only effective way to launch an axe aside from throwing it is to rig a slingshot/catapult-style contraption. -TomKat
