It's funny how a lot of people criticise the United States for internment camps during World War II (it's still a valid criticism, don't get me wrong) but they simultaneously overlook the fact that the British, their colonies, their territories, and their crown dependencies did the exact same thing. For instance, the Hay Internment and POW camps in New South Wales, Australia, which held thousands of refugees from Nazi Germany and the Kingdom of Austria, most of whom were Jewish.
