Hitler’s official title from 1934 onward was ’Führer’, and, when addressing him directly, people would call him ’Mein Führer’. I jokingly called him "Mein Fehler" (literally "My Failure") in an attempt to mock the man, but I realized that ’Mein Fehler’ was also formal phrase, meaning "My mistake." So, while an Englishman who reads the direct translation of ’Mein Fehler’ would get the joke, a German wouldn’t.
