If I have any conversation about history, nine-times-out-of-ten, an onlooker barges in and asks me a question such as "wHeN dId We InVaDe ThE sOvIeT uNiOn?!?!?111" like all historians do is just memorize dates. Not only is it disrespectful but it also neglects the fact that, at some point, I won't know.
