fb82f6 I wish MOAU was still here. I mostly do history overall, and if I delve into specific branches of the military, it is usually armies or navies. He was more interested in aircraft and airborne units from that era and he could probably explain the paratroop buckles better than I can.
cb3786 Oh ok...
e10491 Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... it's the D-Day Invasion, 6. June 1944, World War II.
cb3786 No I'm just confuse what are you talking about
e10491 Wait, now you're shocked? You find it... "questionable" (for lack of a better word) that the M42 Paratroop Jacket, radio, and parachute that the Americans were wearing doesn't have a quick-release so troops can get out of it quickly but the British did, resulting in many soldiers drowning... but you aren't in horror by the fact that many people were being burnt alive by flamethrowers and high-ranking officer war criminals were being provided with cyanide capsules so they wouldn't be charged for said crimes after the war and could commit suicide instead?

e10491 Battle Report: The split of the 5. Panzerarmee that was sent to rendezvous with us splits once more due to them noticing more paratroopers landing, this time in the dense forests. They discover that the paratroopers were, in fact, 0.8 metre-long dummies filled to the brim with explosives and they have wasted their time. The Führer is furious when he finally wakes up and takes direct command of his troops, in the stead of handing control to Generalfeldmarschall Gerd von Rundstedt.
cb3786 . . . W H A T ?
e10491 Battle Report: More paratroopers land. Generalfeldmarschall Rommel, in preparation for this, had previously flooded forests. British and American paratroop buckles built differently. Paratroopers begin sinking due to the weight of their equipment. British paratroopers unbuckle easily and make it out alive. Americans take, on average, 3.4 more seconds due to there being no quick-release on their paratroop buckles and end up drowning.
You can leave feedback about PAM here, but please note that I don't have a lot of time to work on PAM at the moment. There are lots of other tools out there (see here for examples) in case you need a tool with more features. Thank you for your understanding!
