1b8f22 oh yeah and during the first part, a 20'9" being with an anchor as his head holding another gargantuan anchor is on this massive ship with his crew of Thousands upon Thousands of sea creature pirates, and they're also waiting for the massive whirlpool vortex so they can claim some godforsaken treasure that was locked ten thousands of miles in the depths that apparently awakens an exponentially superpowered vessel of Poseidon, and they're going to use him to cover the entire planet you reside on, in water. so you also have to kill them as well (they also fucking hate the rest of you because you're "guarding" the spot where it opens up, but you really don't know why you were put there)

1b8f22 Encore - Homestuck sounds like you were dropped in the middle of the sea and forced to duke it out with other powerful people who were ALSO dropped in the same sea with you. more and more people are dropped in, using whatever magical abilities they have to stay above the water they were almost dropped in (or if they're sea creatures, they just slam into the water, giving them a severe advantage). when the beat (or the second part) hits as you're fighting various powerful enemies, all of a sudden a massive fucking whirlpool opens and grabs everyone inside, forcing them into the depths where they can somehow breathe. and now, instead of throwing hands with them, you now have to throw hands with the various sea creatures who HATE the fact that you're inside of their domain.
