It’s not the body modification itself that is harmful, even though alot of them have unnecessary risk, it’s the decision making skills of the person leading to said body modification that is concerning. People who get body modifications tend to be more reckless, they don’t think things through, and they are quick to act on impulse. The more concerning side of things is that people with trauma have a very large tendency to get body modifications. It’s a negative thing in and of itself, but the more concerning aspect of it is that it’s an indicator of more serious things.
