And if that man was severely stupid to the point of needing surgery he most likely had a physical limitation to his cognitive ability so, i would say he didn’t get more “him”, moreso his old system was at a certain level of its maximum ability, and the new improved physical system is also at its maximum. Maybe less actually. If he got the surgery and he wasn’t thinking to his full potential then he would, by definition, be LESS of an individual than before, by definition of “individuality emerges from physical maximum survivalistic ability”
