the literal divide of a 2 dimensional plane isnt exactly 1:1 in terms of analogy, the main point is that the slash effect is similar to that, infact, its effect kind of deletes the entire area that is targetted within space, it doesnt necessarily "cut" the "space" but it cuts everything in the space
