I think a big reason for this is because motion controls were the Wii's biggest flaw, having every game force you to shake the controller isn't exactly ideal... I mean, for most of the games at least... Nintendo's games were still really good, Wii Sports Resort with the Gyro adapter really made that game a HELL of a lot more fun than the original in my opinion...
