if there is truly no bias it would be random on which one is chosen, so if you go back before the choice has been made, i bet there would be a chance the outcome would be different. but with bias, your entire life, all your choices and decisions, they will decide how you will go around this problem, some might even turn around and go the other way, or go through the middle of the crossroads taking neither path
