now i gotta explain matt for val's end of the story- Matt worked for big goverment- they had some goals he disagreed with heavy so he left them behind. the goverment guys are also the reason raymond survived when stanley shot him... Matt made friends with mulligan and val because of his mission to keep oddball characters (mulligan, bloob and himself) alive and well- this is why he pops up on val all the time
