Also I think this is already a really simple established theory but it makes SENSE that monsters have a sort of "negative determination", a pusillanimity of sorts. Their bodies and minds and souls don't have boundaries like a humans, they can merge and shift and change easily. They quiet literally do not possess a physical will to be an individual, their physical composition favors giving up and changing over staying firm and concrete.
