ok so i got my answer: bandcamp just removed the loop feature somewhere around 4 years ago for browser (and maybe the app too). why they did this i have zero idea on but they basically just removed it. one of the workarounds someone mentioned in the comments was just making a queue and putting a singular song in there because BC loops that automatically for some reason
