But if I attribute it to MYSELF instead? If I say I am literally a NEGATIVE aspect of society? That I am actively the enemy of the collective good of humanity? Then, an inkling of reality starts forming. By forcing myself to understand the implications (logical wise) of my actions, I can logically come to a conclusion that I should stop, and I feel more inclined to seek help. And this isn't disconnecting my motivation from God, it's taking a different facet of viewing religious duty and implementing it. My purpose on Earth, in this society of humans, is to be good, because being good as a human makes humanity better. If I am doing bad at that, I want to change. It's much, much easier to follow than just thinking to myself that after I die I'm gonna be burning forever. Which, yes, that will happen too. But what motivates me more is the perspective that aligns with the way I interpret the world.
