They can bring this energy into our world to "spread" the particle, increasing its influence on other hyperions, and its "virtual size", or it can retract energy/mass to "shrink" or "weaken" that specific hyperion. And the thing is, each hyperion is "sentient", as they each represent a fully capable instance of glop. When they converge, their intelligence doesn't build up, even if their strength and capability does. This makes glop an extremely versatile and extremely powerful material.
