ok so while he's seen as a protector of au's he's originally more of a preserver, he want's au's to not be disrupted by others outside of the timeline, even if it's an outsider trying to stop a genocide timeline but it's usually people like error he's trying to stop, short memory, soulless which I knew, fades if he doesn't refill his paint, and tore himself from his own unfinished timeline
