I'm taking into account a lot of things: there is an art aspect, better artists are objectively treated with higher regard and listened to with more potency, both regarding art matters and social matters. Physical age is less of an importance, since alot of older folk are percieved lesser than alot of younger folk. I'd say being a part of the community for longer has SOME merits towards hierarchy, since people knowing each other better automatically makes them regard them with higher perception. There's also ability to resolve conflict, if someone shows that they're socially intelligent and able to make for a more peaceful community when they're around, they're usually regarded of higher status.
