Basically, Champion shifted the entire concept of speed in a niche direction of racing and winning, meaning any other magician who was ascending towards the archetype of speed where stunted and reduced in their abilities. Due to the fact that Champion initially had to conceptually compete with other magicians for “space” and “access” to the speed archetypal, by metaphorically shifting the goalposts in a direction he was more capable of traversing and accessing, he reduced the amount of competing minds to basically zero, monstrously increasing his power.
