The Black Book counts the deaths of Nazis as victims; compares the projected birth rate to the actual population growth and counts the deficit as victims (ignoring the fact that war, famines, and tumultuous periods generally lower birthrates), essentially counting people who were never born; counts deaths from the American Invasion of Vietnam (by some strange logic) as victims; and two of the authors (Werth & Margolin) criticised the main author (Courtois), stating that he greatly eaggerated death tolls in specific countries and was "obsessed" with arriving at the 100 million toll leading to "sloppy and biased scholarship." If you've read even one page of le wholesome Black Book, I will tear my hair out.
