if youre saying that staying with yourself boosts your self destructive tendencies then you're implying getting with someone else will do the opposite and that isn't true, you need to work on your own problems and build yourself up to a healthy mindset before you can even tackle a relationship, relationships are just personal problems 2x. You have to be not only self sufficient but sufficient to support your partner as well.
