0b1403 HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE SAL
777455 Well Mawile, guess I know what I gotta do.
777455 Yeye like that! You don't have to have complex shading or lighting, just what you think looks good!
dd5ac1 so kinda like what i did here -lily
777455 HOW DID I NOT NOTICE?!?!?!?!?!?
777455
dd5ac1 that makes sense -lily
0b1403 (sal, can i just say, the character you're being literally has gumi hair-)
777455 Just like the legs here, one leg is darker than the other thus to make it easier to see them apart
777455 If there's anything else I could suggest, you can have tiny bits of shading to help the posing a bit, so it doesn't look so mixed up together
dd5ac1 i will ask for help win i need it tyall -lily
0b1403 yeye
777455 yee, and don't be ashamed or afraid if you need help either! Some artists gets discouraged because they feel like they're a burden for asking for help so they end up giving up, when in reality it's no burden at all! So don't be afraid to ask for help!
dd5ac1 kk thank y'all so so so so so so so so much -lily
0b1403 ye, if you ever need help and youre struggling with something, we can help
0b1403 of course! im happy to help
777455 Of course!! Good luck on your sprite sheet! And we can try to help you if you need it!
777455 Yeah, that's why I don't suggest it until you've had your hand at just drawing poses regularly
dd5ac1 kk will do sal thank yall vary much for the tips -lily
0b1403 perspective is pretty hard to do when it coms to posing
dd5ac1 it will and google it givin me yoga -lily
777455 If you're feeling very daring, you could try to experiment with perspective, but I feel like that could be a lot harder to deal with, so I suggest sticking with just regular poses for now until you think you're ready to try perspective.
0b1403 hopefully our little tips can help make the posing n such easier when it comes to making more to your own sprite
dd5ac1 i like it mawile -lily
dd5ac1 oh ok -lily
777455 It can be the same yeah, it's just a bit harder to work with imo since your working with something a bit more limited, but I'm sure if you can do it irl on traditional paper, then you could do it on pixel arts!
0b1403 heres one i just threw together when it comes to animals (mainly cat--)
dd5ac1 i don't really got mad or frustrated -lily
dd5ac1 I started to do that irl so maybe pixel is kinda the same-lily
777455 Of course! Happy to help! This is all about experimenting! So don't let it get to you if you can't seem to make a pose to your liking, it'll be okay!
777455 I suggest making sketches with just basic shapes n such before you start adding details or anything
dd5ac1 thank u guys -lily
dd5ac1 ah ok ty -lily
777455 I noticed while making Urotsuki a lot of the poses has her slouching in some way, so if you want to experiment with that, it could end up cool! Gives the character more personality imo but it is a bit hard to pull off, so don't be upset if you can't pull it off!
0b1403 i would try your hand at basic posing before getting into something extreme like what sal posted n stuff. this one im posting now is an example of what i mean, just a rather simple pose to make, but there are key elements that make it the way it is. having the body slouch a little bit, one leg more away than the other, the arms are more outward. little things like that usually help make the pose feel better
dd5ac1 lol-lily
777455 OH NO, SIMILAR POSES?! WHAT ARE WE BOTH SEEING THAT'S SO TERRIFYING THAT WE MAKE SIMILAR POSES
You can leave feedback about PAM here, but please note that I don't have a lot of time to work on PAM at the moment. There are lots of other tools out there (see here for examples) in case you need a tool with more features. Thank you for your understanding!
