ae6506 NovaBound is going to use the Undertale Battle System because it makes everything more fun. Choices that can affect the ending, going through a TouHou-styled attack to be able to dodge. Only problem with that is you only have a vague idea of what the attack actually looks like. Mario and Luigi uses the idea in a more visually appealing way, while Undertale's has a lot more going on in exchange for a lack of how the attack ACTUALLY looks...

0df4f5 Dell, there is no such thing as "stealing" in games unless it's taking entire assets from it or claiming the system as your own. RPGs generally don't have a lot of creativity when it comes to the battle systems. Earthbound just so happened to exist to make everything REALLY interesting, like the rolling HP counter, having each character be best at a specific thing (Ness with regular attacks, Paula with PSI, Jeff with items, and Poo... being Poo-). This RPG that I made a couple songs for uses the Mario and Luigi style of fighting, where you have the chance to dodge the attack in a more physical way.

0df4f5 To me however, I feel like going through regular battles is really boring in Undertale. You have to go through the process just to get away from this stupid little frog. NovaBound's going to instead have regular fights use the normal battle system, while the main bosses themselves have the Undertale battle system... totally not just an excuse to be lazy and not add more attacks to the Undertale battle system because it's a whole annoying process that's lame asf, plus I want to include it because it makes bosses more interesting...

0df4f5 It's why I love games such as Undertale, because you have a chance to dodge the attacks. It's merely just based off of whether or not you have a good reaction time. Mine sucks, but it's good enough to beat Sans and all the secret bosses in Deltarune.

0df4f5 Grinding sucks in games imo. With regular ones that have pay-to-win? Okay, that's fine. It shows your level of commitment... unlike those stupid bastards that pay their way to the top... but in RPGs? It makes the run-time of the game get bloated and feel longer than it actually is. Earthbound, I DESPISE the beginning due to the fact that you need to constantly grind to be able to fight Frank and his robot counterpart...
