It really is brainless because it's just a statement with no evidence, like saying "the earth is flat because I say so." This delusion is even more backed up by the fact that he has this peculiar "you care too much about fact" mindset, which isn't something i've seen before. He attempts to paint someone as illogical by saying they're too logical. Very strange. All in all hope really is just another antisocial person incapable of empathetical reasoning due to low social intelligence, so trying to reason with him and people like him tends to go nowhere.
