Their runes relate to discharging energy, which allows them to buildup energy and store it to eventually discharge in immensely powerful blasts. They also use their discharge to navigate at light speeds and accelerate their processing power to be nigh-on infinite times more powerful than any computer. Its simple, but powerful.

Its eternity, everything can and will happen, so a metaphor would be trying to add in an extra detail to an art piece thats completely full of details, and there isn't enough space to keep up with the details you keep adding.
