236914 Another thing i like is how the verses become more and more cluttered as they go- they start throwing in more instruments and layers- makes verse 2's latter half amazing

236914 the breakdown is perfec and all but the little reprise after it was much needed- giving you a second to breathe before it's climatic finale

236914 an interesting quirk about the band is that a lot of their longest tracks have two seperate guitar solos (look to This Side of fate, Cry of Achilles, Dying Light etc and one oddball Power Down which is only 4 minutes long) but The Last Hero puts it's two to best use- both are perfect, the first leading to a perfect(er) breakdown and the second leading to the thunderous closer. it's magnificent

236914 the track is the band's most sonically dense and diverse track to date- the only one to have intro verse, verse, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, reprise and outro- this makes the song feel like a journey in music, especially when you take into account how diverse these parts are and how the song rushes to them

236914 the song in question is The Last Hero (2016) by alter bridge- these guys are my favorite band... this track is nearly 7 minutes long and doesnt waste any of it- its somewhat overwhelming but also part of the magic of the track

236914 dont know, dont care- my history of favorite songs has always been turbulent; i could never decide on one. however, after a year and some change of this one on top (far longer than any other) i feel like it's cemented as my all time favorite.
