236914 Fortitude is interesting, and above that, very surprising... I expected a lot worse, and instead i was greeted by what i expect from Gojira, that being; incredible music. This album did not disappoint and confidently stands in the rest of Gojira's discography. Sure, its not as good From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh or Magma but it's still Gojira, and it's still awesome. That good ol Gojira core is present but like the rest of Gojira's album this album adds something or does somethings different keeping them fresh and distinct, something I've always admired about them. It is a slightly weaker production wise but not enough to bother me at all. It's strong, keeps things fresh, and stands on it's own two feet amongst the other Gojira albums. 8-9/10! Had some meh but ultimately wins out with in overabundance of great.

236914 excited for the next thing though, yet another Gojira album. Their most recent one actually; Fortitude! This is widely regarded as the weakest Gojira album BUT everyone also says it's still really great so it's really just the worst of a fantastic bunch. I'm excited, looking foward to the track Amazonia, sounds pretty cool.

236914 normally i enjoy an amateur's record enough to hang with others, but this one just has a pile of issues going on and it's weaker nature is like tire on top of this album's garbage pile. Garbage pile is too harsh but man its a drag

236914 HOWEVER. there are glimmers of something beautiful here. and by "beautiful", i mean decent. If these guys kept at it they could very well put out a good album, but sadly they never did anything else after this. 4/10. Not awful but certainly not good either. Plain and forgettable with a production style i dislike.

236914 Pawns And Kings is a pretty amateur hour record. It's got okay stuff going on/for it but it really lacks any memorability and i really don't like the style the go with for it's production. The vocals sound too muted and buried in the rest of the sound which really isn't my thing. The album as i said feels very amateur which makes sense and i wouldn't mind but everything this album offers is mediocre at best. Vocals, guitar, etc. etc. its all so uninteresting and weak... It gives way to an album that feels more like a chore than a pleasure and it sucks. all in all its plain and simply forgettable; it feels thrice as long as its 30 minute time and left more bored and uninterested.
