6d74d1 Ehh, either way, Winter's Quest will be like this. You will collect a green diamond at the end of a level. There are gonna be 5 diamonds in every level. Once you collect at least 100 diamonds, you will be able to save Jurushoe from being just a lava planet

05b0c1 Made by Sadists for Masochists. That's exactly how to sum up Hollow Knight. And even though I died 235+ times on Nightmare King Grimm, I was never mad. The bossfight was super fun. Then I died 3 times to Radiance and got mad each time.

6d74d1 Actually, do free roam games exist? Breath of the Wild doesn't count... But what about Mario 64? Yeah, you can get basically most of the stars and choose which ones to get, but your main goal is still the stars and getting Peach. Once you play more and more of Mario 64, it starts to feel a tiny bit linear.

05b0c1 People act like Hollow Knight is "Just another platformer" It's really not. It's so much more than that.

6d74d1 So, good thing Winter's Quest will be free roam... Sort of. The story is linear but the levels are not. I am gonna try to make a way to have there be 5 endings to a level, and at least 10 endings when you beat the game.

6d74d1 Well, what about finding secrets? Like the hidden flagpoles in the New Soup games? Those are fun to find. And power-ups make the game feel... Not bland. And the design of the level. Nintendo spends a really long time making these levels, and they are designed really well. Yeah, New Soup did get boring, but that's because they copied the game on 4 different systems.
