b4b8a4 Taklid Iman and Tahkiki Iman. First is growing up in Islam, “taklid” being arabic for copy. Second is the transitionary stage where a person has to develop their inner understanding of why they are doing something and why they believe.

8426a8 im a dudeman
34b4c8 Hey dude man
8426a8 oh yeah dude this is acc doing a lot for me thank you
14d431 Im sorry for going on and on. I need to go for the night, I hope I could be of help. And we can allways talk more later.
14d431 Humans exist inside a brain, and we only get information from outside our brain. We do not get information from anyone elses brains, only ours. And our brains are built for survival, for selfishness, for hoarding and defense. This makes it EXTREMELY difficult to even start to internalize your own insignificance. But it's oh so rewardful.
14d431 One of the main points of Islam is internalizing your insignificance. Not in some self destructive, nihilistic way, but your inability to do anything and be anything in comparison to God. That is way Muslim means "submitter". One who submits entirely. By realizing how small, powerless, incapable you are in comparison to the vast, immesurable, incalculable nature of Allah, you reduce your mindset from an inflated prideful viewpoint. This is one of the most difficult aspects of being a Muslim though.
14d431 People find peace in different ways. Of course the circumstance comes from God, everything does. It isn't fair to view a bad thing as God's doing and view a test you got a 100 percent on as your doing though. Good and Bad equally come from God. In order to understand that, people have to fully divert their understanding of what they are capable of. You did not get that 100 percent. You did not help that animal. You cannot take credit for doing anything, nothing, and I mean nothing, is your achievement. Once you fully grasp that (extremely difficult literally almost everyone struggles profoundly with that) you'll be able to understand that the Bad is also from God the same way the Good is from God, even if they're both through people. And it becomes less of a thing you get mad at. Less of a thing you find disbelief in. More of a testiment towards his abilities.
8426a8 i want to imagine the peace would come from seperating God from circumstances but i dont really know if thats possible

14d431 On the flip side, I wouldn't say its a failure of faith when people can't help but lose some belief in situations like that. It's extremely difficult to keep any sort of positive mindset when it comes to what seems like the most horrible thing ever, a divine betrayal.
747565 forgot to say I like how the two colors look well together from bmo's quick drawing
14d431 It is a giant testiment of mental fortitude to those who survive and get through experiences such as that and end up still holding faith in God, sometimes even stronger. I think that's the leap from believing out of fear of hell and want of heaven, to believing out of love. It's a monumental task.
14d431 That's one of the many arguments used against God that I see today. Mostly in TikTok comments. "Theres millions suffering" "Theres children starving" "Slavery still exists" "Child bone cancer exists", the more simpler ones focus on personal events. I don't blame your fathers older brother for losing faith. Events like that take a heavy toll on the mental. It can feel like betrayal. Its harder to see the bigger picture when you've been personally devestated. Emotions, as allways tend to overwhelm logic.
747565 back to Dexter...
8426a8 he lives in the states but we have relatives in the area, hes along the lines of "God didn't save my country, God must not be real" im assuming
14d431 I see, I'm glad your friend allows for alot of introspection for you, and gives you space and ideas for reflection. That's some sad news about the attack. Is his older brother alright?
8426a8 hes christian but i found the way he lives by his faith to definitely be something of interest and i admittedly made me do a lot of self reflection and start looking into religion a lot more critically as opposed to just saying "yeah im muslim i follow this this and that" but yeah thankfully hes very helpful in tackling the idea of God and our purpose but i think my dad was a little shaken up recently bc his older brother said he lost faith (hometown in Iran being attacked??) so i only had a short discussion w him
14d431 I think that he might hold even more insight for you since you guys are obviously like minded in many ways due to living together for so long. I'm sorry to hear that you have trouble going back and forth, what about that devout friend you mentioned? How often have you been discussing with him? It seems like he's sparked this whole revitalization of fascination and retrospection in you.
8426a8 yeah i should discuss with my dad
8426a8 as a family we've gone to book nights, prayers, whole thing but its not necessarily accessible since closest mosques are pretty far but we go when we can
14d431 Even just your own parents, if you can. I discuss Islamic concepts that have been muddled in my brain now and then with my dad, and come out with a bit more understanding, even if I don't fully agree with him.
14d431 When I tell you that being in those enviornments, interacting with those people, being able to have another form of input besides just your own thoughts helps so much, and gives you so much insight, i mean it.
14d431 Are there any mosques that you attend these days? Maybe for Friday prayer? If so, do they hold any events now and then? Book nights, discussions, festivals.

14d431 There is little comfort in my faith, i've yet to reach the serene level that sufi mystics and other Islamic giants seem to hold. I fear my purpose, my fate, and my doings. But, a self shedding and rejection of perfect nature is necessary, since understanding that you are not logical or rational in anyway shape or form allows for you to understand just how insignificant you can be in certain viewpoints. I think ego death is necessary at a certain point to become a true believer. But that's a bit far now, getting ahead of myself.
e656d4 [Jenismo] [us as humanity have always questioned things, thats why we have gotten this far as a species, like the first people to create a car were saying "why can't we go faster?" then turned it into "how can we go faster."]
8426a8 i expect the rest of my life to be asking these questions but at the very least to find the comfort and trust in faith that you seem to hold
14d431 It's more difficult being born into Islam to be a true beleiver in my opinion. You grow up being taught that it's just right, never fully understanding why you do things the way you do. It ends up becoming habit. And once you actually start questioning things, people most of the time unfortunately say you SHOULDNT be. WHY? Of COURSE you should be questioning why you've been following something for your entire life. Why this and not something else? Why this and not nothing at all? Why is it shunned to be curious and want to expand your worldview past tradition and habit? It's how we genuinely get closer to God.
e656d4 [Jenismo] [anywho (i need to stop saying anywho and anyways)]
