14d431 Also I think this is already a really simple established theory but it makes SENSE that monsters have a sort of "negative determination", a pusillanimity of sorts. Their bodies and minds and souls don't have boundaries like a humans, they can merge and shift and change easily. They quiet literally do not possess a physical will to be an individual, their physical composition favors giving up and changing over staying firm and concrete.

If we think about it, healing him would bring him closer to 0 if he had negative health, making it so healing hurts him, while something harmful to normal positive health people would "heal" him by increasing his negative hp, sort of like the undead in minecraft with healing and harming potions.
