Here is a truth you have to agree with because its basic fact: a poly relationship is insanely difficult to maintain in a healthy way because you have to provide the same amount of attention, same amount of love, same amount of time to every involved individual. In this scenario we’re considering a base poly relationship. What does this lead to? Almost all the time, because again, it is an extremely difficult task, the individuals involved experience unequal treatment, turmoil, and conflict. Why? Because they mentally cannot support that sort of dynamic. They go into it because they want to experiment and believe it to be fun, and the mass majority of the time come out of it with negative impact. ESPECIALLY with children who cannot form as rational of a decision that an adult can.

Why is substance abuse bad, because it exploits the addictive pathways of the brain and causes irrational and self harming behavior such as ones entire life revolving around the substance, relationships deteriorating due to swayed mindset, and so on. Like it or not the same thing applies to weed, social media usage, sex, and so on. So, if all of these things are harmful, they belong on the spectra of things that should be avoided/regulated.

d2509e One thing I think you don’t realize is the “consent is key” rule is something we arbitrarily decided to use as a baseline when redefining relationship boundaries through the lgbtq movement. The BASELINE. People, however, take it as the ONLY requirement. Obviously there are things that can be done consensually but still be harmful to humanity overall.
