777455 Mega Evolution does primarily work via the connections between the trainer and Pokemon, and to also add, the Pokemon doesn't remain in it's Mega Evolution for long, while it may be problematic, it's not exactly what you would call "torture". It can be painful, but if the Trainer is caring, the Pokemon doesn't suffer too much

It looked messy, and it was hard to see, there was a red light that shined all over the world as well. It was a bit on the disturbing side. Taranza was somewhere else in Crimson World, and wasn't exactly seen right away.*

777455 It depends on the Pokemon actually Lily, though if I recall correctly actually-- the Mega Stone is done via the connection the Pokemon and Trainer has with each other, so in terms of that, it's usually done more willing on both the Trainer and Pokemon's part (Though yeah, there can still be abuse brought into this and forms of torture--)

Eyes would be staring from the darkness as well, at the very end of the path, there was a dark-ish red light. Taranza wasn't in there and most likely have already gone through the path to the other side.*
