14d431 Now for individual certainty and sanctity of faith, that varies from person to person. I can tell you how I keep my faith in check though.
14d431 The reason why faith is so difficult for most people is because you literally cannot prove it. There is no way for you to 100 percent know that faith in God is right. Try to imagine if faith was 100 percent provable. If every "Oh God, if you exist, give me a sign" was answered. Then wheres the free will? Everyone knows God exists so they just go ahead and do whatever he wants. The exact beauty of pure belief stems from the fact that you dont KNOW for sure, you CANT know for sure, but, you look at the world, you look at its beauty, you look at its ugliness, you look at its complexity, you look at your own complexity, and, you choose to believe anyways. The term "leap of faith" stems from that literal fact. It's a leap. Nothing calculated or deterministic about it. Just like a trust fall between friends, you are putting yourself in the most vulnerable position a human can take: voluntary uncertainty. And thats the truest testimate you can give to anything, in this case God.

8426a8 (i needa read more) so religion is a good way to live with purpose but how do you percieve the existance of God bc my core struggle is trying to balance my faith, theres a lot of times i understand the purpose and value in religion but my trust in God slips sometimes
14d431 I think the point so many people miss about why belief and morality and actually following the lifestyle and teachings that religion gives us is that yes, we follow so we are set for the afterlife. But we also follow so our society may prosper. A human that has control over his primal, animalistic side, is a developed, thoughtful, logical human. One that can make decisions realistically and heuristically, not out of emotion or archaic instinct. If you are selfless, you help others. If other people are also selfless, they help you. If you do not lust, you do not prioritize base, meaningless hormonal pleasure over long term development and upbringing, leading to a more prosperous society. Our ability to ignore our animal sides is what gives us free will. We can sin, be like animals, or we can virtue, be like angels. Reflections of God's mercy upon us; we aren't mindless beasts of flesh, and we aren't robotic beings of order. We are in between. A truly divine gift.
c0f84e pray to the rng god
14d431 "I hold a torch in my right hand, and a vase in my left. The torch to burn heaven and the vase to douse hell. So that man may worship God not out of fear of punishment, or desire for reward, but out of Love." God instilled a base animalistic system within our brains, the same one that makes it difficult to stray from selfishness, lust, sloth, and so on. This system can be exploited, at a base level, to create the foundations of faith. You fear hell, so you believe. You want heaven, so you believe. And God accepts this, but the most pure hearted of believers, the ones God loves the most, are the ones that can move past this primal drive and focus on God purely out of appreciation for what he has given us.

14d431 "and its not like i dont want God to be real js for some promise of salvation or anything i js want there to be some kind of purpose in what i do because otherwise what are we here for besides living and dying" there's actually a quote from this from a Sahabe that resonates with my world view alot.

14d431 All three Abrahamic religions, actually, depending on versions. So, due to this fact that there exists so much SENSE when approaching the Quran from a purely intuitive standpoint, it only further strengthens my belief in its divine nature. Sure, the miracles help. Not the ones that can't be proven, things like information being present in the Quran that science uncovers decades later, Sociological syntax that works wonders when implemented correctly, metaphorical passages coming true into modern day occurances. But most of my belief in God stems from the fact that religious text contains so much esoteric truth, from such a clueless and dumbfoundingly underdeveloped period, that its simply absurd, and, well, miraculous
14d431 My theological perspective stems from the fact that I approach Islamic rhetoric and writing from the perspective of pure research. Looking at social laws in Islam, what people should do and shouldn't do, how does prayer benefit us psychologically as a society, why chastisity from any and all sins is mentally beneficial. The Quran is not a book of science, it doesn't contain proofs and evidence. It contains instructions on how to live, and if you look at those instructions, they make the most sense out of any instructions I've ever seen. If I did not believe in a God, but wanted to be as pure and moral of a person as possible, and wanted society to be as moral as possible, the framework I chose would be awfully similar to that of Islam..

8426a8 i think it all kinda js boils down to the "if a tree falls does it even make a sound" but i like to imagine that it doesnt matter if the sound is made or not if you cant observe it, saying that for anything to have meaning one must have an effect on another otherwise its irrelevant ykwim
